Kingdom Hearts IV: future scenes in the Unreal Engine 5

The announcement trailer from Kingdom Hearts IV came (more or less) surprisingly for the 20th anniversary of the series. The scenes from the trailer were still implemented with the Unreal Engine 4. However, director Tetsuya Nomura said that it was the last time that the game was seen.

In the trailer there is talk of the fact that the game in the fifth version of the Unreal Engine will develop and that the optical appearance will be "increased some levels".

In an interview with the Famitsu Magazin on the Ryokutya page, Tetsuya Nomura was asked when you would see the game in the new engine.

KINGDOM HEARTS 4 20th ANNIVERSARY ARTWORK BY TETSUYA NOMURA

His answer was: “We are developing in the Unreal Engine 5, so this will probably have been the only time that pictures could be seen in the Unreal Engine 4. The next material should be in the Unreal Engine 5. "

In addition to the director Tetsuya Nomura, who has already done work on the series, Masaru Oka and Akiko Ishibashi have now also been confirmed as a writer for the fourth main part of Kingdom Hearts. The two have previously participated in the series.

When Kingdom Hearts IV will be released is currently not foreseeable.
