Basketball Bundesliga club Medi Bayreuth has found a new head coach. Lars Masell, who was already working as an assistant coach for the Franconia from 2016 to 2021, will succeed his long -standing Raoul Korner next season. The 41-year-old Masell, who is still working as an assistant coach at the Ligarival MHP Giant Ludwigsburg, receives a one-year contract in Bamberg. "In my career, I worked on one day to get the chance to be able to take responsibility for a Bundesliga team as head coach," said Masell. Korner leaves Bamberg after missing the play-offs. After six years at the club, he had the need for a "change of tapet", the 48-year-old Austrian justified.
